Shepherd Crafts aims at reviving and sustaining the inherent hand skills of Gujjar and Bakarwal community through documentation, design and retail. It provides an alternate source of income to it’s women beneficiaries as well as access to health care. Started in 2011 with the support of Pahalgam Hotel, this project wishes to reach out to as many women from these communities, skilled or unskilled from the villages around Pahalgam, Kashmir.

Shepherd Crafts is a collaborative effort between Ramneek and Devika, two like-minded, reasonably empowered women who wish to empower others.

It is a window for us into the simple world of these migrant shepherd communities and for them to the busy world outside.
